The weather was glorious today! We enjoyed our first 2019 visit to one of our favorite beach restaurants – Plage d’Argent – named after the fine silver sand on one of Corsica’s most beautiful beaches. Plage d’Argent is located in Verghia at the base of the national eucalyptus forest that runs along the Route D55 from the sea to the mountain village of Coti Chiavari. The beach is approx half-mile long as it curves from the forest on the southern end to the northern end where we were dining.
The southern section is perfect for families. Ideal for young children just learning to enter the sea; the water is usually calm with the soft sand so very gradually descending to a reasonable depth for swimming. It’s also the perfect sand for creating sand structures. Near the restaurant end, there are more waves – rarely large enough to body surf – here you find more experienced swimmers because it drops off more quickly. We love walking the entire expanse.
